Forrester report named Salsify a leader in PIM in the "The Forrester Wave™: Product Information Management, Q2 2021”, making it a globally recognized PIM and PXM platform.

The platform has a “strong reputation” for its powerful syndication and data distribution capabilities, in addition to its core data management and governance oversight required of an enterprise-grade solution.

  • Governance and process assistance

  • Enhancement of product data

  • Distribution of product data

Why Is Salsify a Good Choice for Brands?

Let’s look at why Salsify is trusted by brands worldwide for their product information management.

Why is it good for Business?

  • Flexible Data Governance: Salsify PIM is a robust system that provides seamless data management and governance. As a flexible platform, you can add attributes, import new data types, and implement validation rules. These changes can be made without overhauling your entire data schema.

  • Effective Collaboration among Team Members: Salsify lets you utilize built-in collaboration resources such as tasks, visual revision tracking, and in-line comments, allowing your team to work seamlessly together and successfully bring high-quality product experiences to the marketplace.

  • Improved Content: Salsify enables brands to transform product pages into immersive experiences using rich media like image galleries, videos, comparison charts, PDFs, and more, helping them stand out on the digital shelf. Salsify lets you link content from the Salsify software and conveniently position it to generate extensive layouts in bulk for numerous products and target destinations.

  • GDSN Data Pool: Salsify's GDSN Data Pool is a GS1-certified platform. It is designed for interoperability, allowing users to connect logistics data to any trading or business partner, regardless of the data pool they're using, thereby saving costs by not allowing you to maintain multiple licenses to multiple data pools. Your GDSN Data Pool information is powered by the Salsify PIM software, serving as your unified source of truth. This means the changes are updated everywhere when you modify your content within the PIM system. This approach saves considerable time by helping you avoid manual duplication and errors.

Why is it good for IT?

  • Useful API Documentation for Developers: Salsify has a useful  API and webhook guide and documentation to help developers start with Salsify. The documentation includes supplierXM docs and the ProductXM integration page. You can also access a get started page showing how Salsify’s APIs are organized. You can learn how to get your token, retrieve your first product, upload your first product, and understand Salsify’s data model.

  • Seamless Automation: Salsify lets you utilize out-of-the-box Salsibots to incorporate automation into your operations, enabling tasks such as property updates, message delivery, channel publishing, and other related activities. You can streamline assigning tasks by automatically matching the appropriate attributes to the designated user, ensuring timely execution. This is done using the integration of an e-commerce workflow directly into user roles and task management workspaces. Read more about Salsify Automation.

  • Strong Security: Salsify's ProductXM and SupplierXM platforms have obtained SOC 2 Type II Compliance. Salsify undergoes annual certification by AICPA SOC 2 Type II, which involves auditing service and the company's operational and security processes. The security measures for Salsify ProductXM and SupplierXM platforms are built on ISO 27001:2013, showcasing Salsify’s proficiency in securely managing information technology systems meeting security requirements for the enterprise.

  • E-commerce Platform Integrations: Salsify makes it easy to integrate with your existing tech stack. The platform has built-in REST and GraphQL APIs that let you ingest and export content within every product content database in your ecosystem. What else? The platform boasts of a MACH architecture allowing seamless integrations with other e-commerce platforms. As a cloud-hosted multi-tenant SaaS, you can get rid of hosting, upgrade and maintenance costs while providing high-quality product data.

Why is it good for Marketing?

  • Activation Insights: Salsify lets marketers receive insights and reports on products. For instance, you can receive Product Page and SEO reports that show you where your content ranks. Using the “Last Mile Visibility” in Salsify, marketers can audit published content to confirm that it matches what was last syndicated. You can also utilize the “Share of Search” or “Buy Box” reports to verify that it is effectively generating the desired results for your business.

List of Features

Let's dive into some of Salsify’s features

OpenAI Accelerator

The Salsify OpenAI Accelerator is a feature designed to streamline the product content creation process across an entire product catalog by integrating generative AI into the workflow. This is done directly within Salsify's PXM platform, used by brands, retailers, and distributors, often under tight deadlines to deliver relevant and accurate content across the digital shelf.

The accelerator is designed to save significant time and assist organizations in scaling their operations.

Customers in the Salsify PXM platform use the Workflow feature to define the language generation prompt, dynamically inject contextual data from Salsify's PIM system, and execute content generation in bulk using OpenAI. The automatically generated content is then connected to an organization's existing workflow. This allows in-house review processes involving brand teams and legal departments to occur, ensuring that creative oversight is maintained. Read more.

Product Syndication

Salsify's approach to PIM syndication is based on the understanding that every retailer has different requirements for product content regarding the content type and amount needed. This means that a single version of product content is often insufficient.

To address this, Salsify's PIM syndication allows brands to create and manage multiple versions of their product content tailored to the needs of each retailer, distributor, or partner. Salsify combines PIM and syndication capabilities in one platform to solve this problem uniquely.

Once the content is ready for publishing, Salsify distributes it to retailers, social commerce platforms, or any other desired endpoint.
